Who are we?


We are a chapter of the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association. The Association was founded in 1887 and is the oldest state lodging association in the United States. The original association was for the lodging industry but now includes various segments of the hospitality industry including:

  • Lodging
  • Attractions
  • Convention and Visitors Bureaus
  • Hospitality Students
  • Industry Suppliers

The Rochester Hotel Association also provides an organization for the interchange of ideas and provides a medium for the establishment, regulation of trade practices and policies for the mutual benefit and protection of the association members and to engender public goodwill and to strive fore increased public service.

    As part of the Rochester Hotel Association, you will:

  • Attend informative and educational monthly meetings
  • Participate in the Annual Golf Tournament
  • Participate in charitable events
  • Offer Scholarships to RIT and MCC students
  • Attend the Annual Legislative Reception Regarding Tourism
  • Participate in the RIT Mentor Program
  • Work with the NYSHTA
  • Network with various Hotel's GM's and DOS's as well as representatives from the GRVA
  • Seek funding for the I Love NY campaign
  • Associated with Monroe County Sports Development Corporation
  • Orchestrate the merger of the GRVA and the Riverside Convention Center Sales departments
  • Seek Representation in Albany to speak on behalf of Rochester's Hospitality Industry including Government Action Day

Our Purpose


The purpose of the Rochester Hotel Association is to foster, promote and develop the business of member hotels in the Rochester ande Monroe County areas in all matters involving the hotel industry and business, and to protect the welfare of the hotel industry.
